What we'll explore

Leadership brings plenty of things we can't control — other people's behaviour, changing priorities, unexpected problems and decisions made elsewhere.

What we can influence is how we respond.

In this interactive workshop, we'll explore the difference between operating from a place of ownership versus getting caught in reaction, blame or frustration, and what this means for the way you lead yourself and others.

We'll explore:

  • What ownership looks like in every day leadership
  • How to recognise when you have slipped out of ownership and in to reacting
  • Where you might have more choice and influence than you think

What you'll take away

Taking ownership isn't about pretending everything is within our control. It's about recognising where we do have choice and deciding what we can do next.

  You'll discover how to:

  • Shift from reacting to creating
  • Focus on what you do, rather than who or what is to blame
  • Make stronger, more intentional choices
  • Take greater responsibility for the energy you bring to your leadership

Put it in to practice

Understanding ownership is one thing. Noticing where we give it away, and then choosing another response, is where things start to change.

During the workshop, you will have time to reflect on where greater ownership could make a difference not only in your leadership but in your life too.

You'll leave with:

  • Greater awareness of your own patterns and responses
  • A simple framework you can continue to use
  • One practical action to help you to take more ownership straight away
